About: On this episode of the HEALth Practitioner Podcast, I am talking with Tiffany Martin, RN, BSN, about incorporating yoga into her nursing practice and how she is using several integrative care modalities in her daily life for a holistic lifestyle. She tells us how she has embraced what holistic nursing really is – “a way of being”.
She shares information about:
- Yoga training
- How she has Implemented yoga into her personal life and her professional life as an RN
- Yoga teacher training program in order to offer therapeutic yoga to clients
- Touch Therapy
- Holistic nursing as a specialty
- Life/work balance
Tiffany has practiced as a Registered Nurse (RN) for six years and started her home based yoga practice* in 2011 as a way to reduce stress. Yoga soon became a part of her daily life and patient care. Her day always include some form of self-care.
I can remember not having any idea what I would do with my future as a nurse. The most powerful benefit from my yoga journey is realizing my “dharma” or life purpose. Before my practice of yoga, I had no idea what I would do or even wanted to do. I had no drive, ambition, or any real desire to invest in myself. Yoga has opened my eyes to my full potential and has helped me begin a career as a nurse entrepreneur.
*Correction: Tiffany’s practice is in Delaware.
